Holiday Pay

• The following holidays are recognized by Casey’s each year: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Store Operations:
• Our store are open for business every day of the year. The only exceptions are Christmas Eve when stores close early, at 6 p.m., and Christmas Day when stores open late, at 10 a.m. Exceptions to opening and closing times may be made with the approval of the District Manager.

• Hourly employees who are required to work on a holiday to serve our customers receive time-and-a-half regular pay. Any hours worked over 40 hours in one week, are considered overtime. Employees are paid time-and-a-half for any time worked over 40 hours in one week.

Corporate:
• Most departments at the Corporate Headquarters’ offices will be closed on these days. However, certain departments are required to be staffed at all times, including Company holidays. The Manager/Supervisor will advise if this is necessary.

• It is the responsibility of the Manager/Supervisor to ensure sufficient staff coverage of the department on regular business days surrounding all holidays. Additional information regarding Casey’s paid holidays is outlined in Casey’s Employee Handbook.

401(k) Plan

• Employees who are age 21 or over and work at least 1,000 hours within their first year of employment, will be eligible to defer money into our 401(k) plan effective the first calendar quarter following their first year of employment.

• Participants may can defer from 1 percent to 50 percent of their gross pay via payroll deduction to the 401(k) plan, subject to the statutory maximum.

• Beginning the first calendar quarter following the completion of 1 year of service, we will match 100% of the first 6 percent a participant contributes to the plan. All Company contributions are matched in Casey’s General Stores Common Stock.

• Participants may select from numerous investment options and are eligible to redirect deferrals at any time during the plan year.

• A participant who separates from employment may roll their 401(k) plan investments directly into another qualified plan through a new employer. Upon retirement, a participant will receive the full value either via lump sum or via a variety of annuity options.

Stock Purchase Plan

• Both full and part-time employees are given the opportunity to purchase shares of our Common Stock via payroll deduction through our Dividend Reinvestment and Stock Purchase Plan. There is no waiting period, but a $50 per month minimum applies.

Volunteerism

• Casey’s is ingrained in the communities in which we exist and we whole-heartedly believe in giving back. Employees are encouraged to volunteer in their communities whenever possible. Headquarters employees and related departments can be found volunteering at a variety of Company sponsored events such as at the Iowa State Fair, Living History Farms, and the like, and offering their own time to participate in charity walks, clothing drives, and numerous other events. Store employees are seen participating in a host of community activities for charity events such as JDRF, MDA, Autism Speaks, and the list goes on.

**Food Discount Program

• Available for store employees only, a fifty (50) percent discount is offered on all prepared foods, Deli Express sandwiches, Frozen Concentrated Beverages (“FBC”), soft serve ice cream and root beer floats consumed at the store while on duty. Store employees also receive free fountain drinks, which include all fountain items, coffee, cappuccino and ice water, with the exception of iced coffee, root beer floats and Frozen Concentrated Beverages (“FBC”) while working a scheduled shift when using their insulated employee issued sixteen (16) oz. refillable mug. Employees are required to pay the full retail price for any fountain drink not placed in the Company issued sixteen (16) oz. refillable mug. The maximum dollar amount per day is $7.00 at regular prices ($3.50 with discount.) There are no other discounts available for the remaining store products or gasoline.

Electronic W-2

• Employees may obtain their W-2 Statement and pay stubs (“iPay Statement”) free online at the secure website. For the convenience of our employees, this information may be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Paperless Payroll Distribution

• Our Payroll Distribution Program is “paperless” and includes two fast, easy and safe ways to get paid: Direct Deposit or the ADP TotalPay® Card and Money Network™ Check Program. Employees may choose how pay is delivered to them from our Payroll Distribution Program options listed below. Employees can change a pay selection at any time.

  • A. Direct Deposit
    Pay can be delivered electronically to a personal checking or savings account via “direct deposit.” When enrolling in this option, an employee will authorize Casey’s to initiate deposits of net pay into the account at their designated financial institution. An employee will also authorize debits from the account and the return of such funds.

  • B. ADP TotalPay Card and Money Network Check Service

    Money Network Check. The Money Network Check (“check”) is a paycheck that our employees can easily complete on or after each payday, eliminating the need to pick up a paycheck, wait for it to be mailed, or pay for it to be cashed. The check can be deposited into a personal bank account or cashed for free at Money Network check-cashing partners. There is no fee for using Money Network Checks.

  • ADP TotalPay Payroll Debit Card. The ADP TotalPay Payroll Debit Card (“card”) provides a dependable, safe, optional, and convenient way to receive and access pay on and after each payday with the following features: (i) eliminates the need to pick up a paycheck, wait for it to be mailed, or pay for it to be cashed; (ii) immediate, worldwide access wherever the VISA is accepted for ATM cash withdrawals, bank-branch withdrawals, and store purchases (including “cash back”); (iii) money transfers to a personal or joint checking account; and (iv) free balance inquiries by phone. Employees are automatically eligible for the card and there is no application or approval process. There is no monthly service charge for the card throughout employment with Casey’s. Many card transactions are free, but there are fees for other transactions, and Money Network Checks can be used to access funds free of charge. All of the transaction fees are outlined in the packet provided at the time enrollment or fee information may be requested from an employee’s direct supervisor or Payroll Department prior to enrollment.

Full-time Positions Offer:

Paid Vacation Days

• Full-time employees may earn up to the following vacation pay according to their years of service and the number of hours worked:

• Other than at 6 months, vacation time is earned (issued) on one’s anniversary date with our Company. Up to 5 days of accrued vacation time may be carried over to the next year. Upon one’s anniversary date, unused accrued vacation beyond 5 days will be lost.

• Upon separation of employment, an employee will be paid for earned, unused vacation at their current rate of pay.

Paid Medical Leave

• All full-time employees may earn up to 5 days of medical leave per year after 1 year of employment and upon each employment anniversary thereafter.

• Medical leave accumulates from year-to-year and can be saved up to a maximum of 30 days. Upon reaching the 30 day maximum, employees are paid on an annual basis for any medical leave in excess of 30 days at their current rate of pay.

Bereavement Leave

• There is no doubt that losing a loved one is difficult. As such, we offer paid bereavement leave to our full-time employees who have experienced a death in their immediate or extended family to include time off during hours scheduled to work when persons included in their immediate or extended family pass away. Paid leaves of up to three days may be granted when there is a death in the immediate family and up to one day may be granted when there is a death in the employee’s extended family.

Floating Holidays For Corporate Employees Only

• Casey’s Corporate Headquarters employees receive two (2) paid floating holidays per year effective on their anniversary date of full-time employment. A floating holiday is paid as a normal work day, but will not exceed eight (8) hours for hourly employees. Floating holidays must be taken in full day increments on (1) the immediate work day before or after Memorial Day, Independence Day or Labor Day, and/ or (2) between November 15 and January 15 each year (to accommodate Thanksgiving Day, Christmas and New Year’s Day). In certain departments, there may be a business need that dictates otherwise (i.e. certain personnel operating in Support Services, Distribution and Transportation) as determined by the overseeing Vice President and documented in writing to the Human Resources Director. All floating holidays must be pre-approved. As such, a floating holiday cannot be used in lieu of or in addition to medical leave.

Group Health Insurance

• Our full-time employees are eligible for coverage under this plan through Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield effective the first day of the month following 3 months of full-time employment. Qualified employees must enroll on or before their 3 month full-time employment anniversary.

• Coverage ends the last day of the month on which employment ends or an employee’s status changes from full-time to part-time.

• We offer a choice of single or family coverage under a PPO Plan. Three plan choices are offered: High Deductible Health Plan, Standard, and Premium.

• Participants of Casey’s High Deductible Health Plan may also open a Health Savings Account to pay for medical expenses with pre-tax dollars. Participants of the HAS are not eligible to also enroll in a medical Flexible Spending Account.

Dental Insurance

• Full-time employees are eligible to enroll in this plan effective the first day of the month following 3 months of employment and annually each December for a January 1, effective date.

• Coverage ends the last day of the month on which employment ends or an employee’s status changes from full-time to part-time.

• We offer two plan choices for employees to choose from. Both plans offer preventative services such as routine cleanings and X-rays. The Low Plan offers coverage for simple extractions and fillings, while the High Plan offers additional coverage for orthodontia, root canals and crowns.

• Participants of the High Plan must satisfy specific waiting periods before certain extensive dental services are covered.

Life Insurance

• Our full-time employees are covered under our $10,000 Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment plan effective the first day of the month following 3 months of full-time employment. Casey’s pays 100% of the premium for this policy so employees are automatically covered at no cost to them.

• Coverage ends the last day of the month on which employment ends or an employee’s status changes from full-time to part-time.

• In conjunction with the basic life insurance we provide, full-time employees will also be automatically enrolled in an Additional Life plan with $20,000 in coverage at an affordable cost. Employees may opt out of the plan through the online enrollment process, or if they choose, they may increase the volume of additional life insurance for themselves and purchase coverage for their spouse and dependent children as well.

• At annual enrollment each December for a January 1, effective date, employees may choose to enroll or increase coverage. However, medical approval is required for all late entrants.

Short-term Disability

• This plan is available to full-time employees effective the first day of the month following 3 months of employment and during annual enrollment each December for a January 1, effective date.

• In the event of an approved disability and upon completion of the later of either a 7 or 14-day elimination period, or the exhaustion of the participant’s accumulated medical leave time, participants may receive up to 60 percent of their pay, up to a maximum of $1,000 per week.

• Employees who declined to enroll when first offered and who enroll at a subsequent January 1, are subject to a 60 day waiting period for any disability related to an illness during their first year of coverage.

• The premium, based on an employee’s age and salary, is deducted on an after-tax basis 24 times per year from their paycheck.

• Coverage ends the last day of the month on which employment ends or an employee’s status changes from full-time to part-time.

*Long-term Disability

• This plan is offered to full-time non-store employees effective the first day of the month following 3 months of employment and annually each December for a January 1, effective date.

• In the event of an approved disability and upon completion of either a 90 or 180-day elimination period, participants may receive up to 60 percent of their pay up to a maximum of $5,000 per month.

• The plan does not cover pre-existing conditions for which participants received medical treatment within the 3 months prior to their effective date of coverage until after they have been covered under the plan for 12 months. Medical approval is required for all late entrants.

• The premium, based on an employee’s age and salary, is deducted on an after-tax basis 24 times per year from their paycheck.

• Coverage ends the last day of the month on which employment ends or an employee’s status changes from full-time to part-time.

Flexible Spending Accounts

• All full-time employees working a minimum of 35 hours per week, who are employed as of December 31, may elect to participate each January 1.

• This plan allows employees to allocate a certain amount of pre-tax dollars to be deducted from their paycheck to cover medical, vision or dental expenses as well as childcare expenses. Medical Max: $2,500; Childcare Max: $5,000 annually.

• Proof of expense, along with a completed reimbursement form must be submitted to the plan administrator for processing. Reimbursement checks are typically issued within 7-10 days of receipt of the reimbursement form.

• Participants may file claims for reimbursement for expenses incurred through the date in which their employment ceases. Participants have until March 31 each year in which to file eligible expenses for the prior calendar year.

Critical Illness Insurance

• Full-time employees are eligible to enroll effective the first day of the month following 3 months of employment, and during annual enrollment each December for a January 1, effective date.

• Group Voluntary Critical Illness coverage provides a lump-sum cash benefit paid directly to the participant to help cover the out-of-pocket expenses associated with a critical illness (for example, heart attack, stroke, invasive cancer).

• Coverage is a guaranteed issue as long as employees enroll when first offered. Medical questions will be asked of all late entrants. Premiums are age-banded by the employee’s age, will not increase while enrolled and are tobacco distinct.

• Employees may cover themself, their spouse, and/or their children. Coverage is provided through Allstate Benefits.

Accident Insurance

• Full-time employees will be eligible to enroll effective the first day of the month following 3 months of employment, and during our annual enrollment each December for a January 1, effective date.

• Group Accident coverage pays cash benefits directly to the participant for expenses associated with an off-the-job accidental injury.

• Group Voluntary Accident coverage can help pick up where other insurance leaves off and provide cash to help cover the expenses. Expenses can include deductibles and co-pays from the employee’s health plan, lost income or other non-medical expenses.

• Employees may cover themself, their spouse, and/or their children. Coverage is provided through Allstate Benefits.

Employee Assistance Program

• To assist in the everyday challenges of balancing work and home life in addition to more serious issues impacting emotional and physical health and wellbeing, we offer our employees an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), at no cost. This Employee Assistance Program is an added benefit available for all full-time employees and is designed to offer employees telephonic and web access to experienced counselors, as well as an opportunity for face-to-face meetings. The key features of the program are as follows:

  • Telephonic Consultations: Speak confidently with a master's level consultant to clarify the participant’s needs, evaluate options and create an action plan.
  • Face-to face Meeting: Confer with a local consultant up to three times per issue for short-term problem resolution.
  • Education Materials: Receive information through Standard's on-line library of downloadable materials and interactive tools.

Vision Discount Program

• While we do not offer a standalone vision insurance plan to our employees, Casey's dental plan includes a discount program that provides some nice financial benefits. When enrolled in our dental insurance plan, participants are provided with more information about the discount vision program which provides discounts on eye exams, discounted pricing for lenses, savings on eyeglass frames, and savings on conventional contact lenses.

Part-time Positions

Limited-Pay Medical Plan

• Part-time employees who work less than 35 hours per week are eligible to enroll in our Limited-Pay Medical Plan immediately upon employment with us and must enroll within 60 days of their part-time hire date. Coverage is effective on the date on which the first payroll deduction occurs. Enrollment is also offered annually each May for a June/July effective date.

• Our Part-time Employee Benefits Plan is a group limited-pay medical plan for our part-time workforce. This plan is not a comprehensive major medical plan, but offers basic medical coverage. A choice of two different plans are offered and coverage options are single, employee plus one, or full family. A critical illness benefit is included that provides a lump sum payment for certain illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, or life threatening cancer, for example.

• The part-time benefits plan also includes dental and life insurance benefits. Employees may choose to one option, dual options, or all three plans; the combination of choices is not limited. Additional health service discounts for vision, chiropractic and hearing services are available, as well as access to a 24 hour nurse line and discounts on referrals for counseling services.

Life Insurance

• Our part-time benefits package also includes optional life insurance coverage. An employee can select a $20,000 Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) policy for themself, $2,500 for their spouse, $1,250 for their children over 6 months old, and $200 for infants less than 6 months of age. This coverage is free-standing, meaning that employees do not have to enroll in a health plan option in order to select this plan option.

Dental Insurance

• Our part-time benefits package also includes optional dental insurance coverage. Single coverage, employee plus one, or full family coverage is available. This plan provides $500 in covered benefits per covered member with a $50 deductible. This coverage is free-standing, meaning that employees do not have to enroll in a health plan option in order to select this plan option.
