2017 Summer Intern Program

Just as our interns learned a great deal during their weeks at Casey's, our employees learned from them as well. Throughout the summer our interns worked together to put on a company-wide campaign for the United Way "Stuff the Bus" program, resulting in over 2,800 books being raised for children in Des Moines and the surrounding area. Beyond this, the intern group contributed their ideas through a social media project, gained company insight at regularly scheduled Huddles, enjoyed socializing and making valuable connections with their peers and wrapped up the experience with a presentation on Family Day.

What do we look for in our interns?

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Result-oriented attitudes
  • Leadership ability
  • Curiosity
  • Drive to succeed

Internships at Casey's can result in a career as five out of 18 summer 2016 interns were hired for full-time roles.

Here is what a few of our 2016 and 2017 interns said:

"This internship has given me so much more experience than any college course could."

"This was a fun, learning and challenging experience that I would recommend for anyone looking to get an internship."

"I gained a lot of valuable hands-on experience. I was able to take what I have learned in school and apply it in the real world. This was also my first real experience with accounting and finance outside of school, so this internship showed me for certain that this is the career I want to pursue."

"My internship has been nothing less than a positive experience. I am reminded every day to ask questions to anyone I meet. I have experienced a kind group of professionals who are ready to assist me with any problem that arises. I am given responsibilities large and small that contribute to the success of Casey's and the Food Services Department. My internship has offered many opportunities to better my communication skills in a professional setting through email, face-to-face and project presentations. The experience I have been given at Casey's this summer has been a positive reinforcement that Casey's really is a family that I am grateful to have been a part of."
